Calls: Automations for follow-up tasks after call ends
in progress
Ahmed Nassar
Business Problem:
- As a sales professional, I want to trigger automations after a call ends so that I can follow up with customers and update systems without manual effort
- Currently, there is no structured way to automate post-call actions (e.g. missed, no answer, answered), resulting in inconsistent follow-ups and operational overhead
Desired Outcome:
Trigger workflows when a call ends;
Allow businesses to automate post-call actions such as:
- Sending follow-up messages (e.g. WhatsApp, SMS)
- Notifying internal teams
- Logging call outcomes via integrations (e.g. CRM)
Use Cases:
- Send a follow-up message after a missed incoming call
- Trigger CRM logging after an outbound call ends
- Notify a team when a call is answered or not answered
- Create follow-up tasks for unanswered outbound calls
Current Workaround:
- N/A - businesses currently rely on manual follow-ups or external processes

Calls: Automate Away Messages for Incoming Voice Calls
Attia Saleh
Business Problem:
Currently, respond.io Workflows do not support detecting or triggering actions based on incoming voice calls, making it impossible for businesses to send automated away messages to callers outside business hours.
This gap impacts businesses that rely on voice communication, such as support centers and sales teams, where missed calls without acknowledgment can lead to lost opportunities and a poor customer experience.
Desired Outcome:
Introduce a workflow trigger for incoming voice calls, with the ability to define conditions like time (e.g., outside of working hours). This would allow users to:
- Automatically send a WhatsApp or SMS message when a voice call is received after hours.
- Inform customers that no agents are available and that their call will be returned during business hours.
- Optionally log the call or notify a team member.
