Respond AI: AI Agent - Wait for all Messages before replying
in progress
Wong Yi Teng
Business Problem:
Currently, the AI Agent responds immediately to each individual user message. When users send multiple messages in a short period of time, the AI replies to each one individually. This can make the conversation feel broken or unnatural. As a result, the interaction may feel rushed, robotic, and less natural.
For example:
- User:“I’m interested in Product A.”
- User (immediately after):“Does it work with Shopify?”
- AI responds instantly after Step 1:“Great! Here’s more information about Product A.”
In this case, the AI responds too quickly and doesn’t wait to see if the user had more to say. As a result, it misses the full context and gives an incomplete answer.
Desired Outcome:
To create a smoother and more natural conversation, the AI should wait briefly before replying—especially when it looks like the user is still typing or might send another message shortly.
To achieve this, the AI should:
- Detect when a user is actively typing and wait before responding.
- Adding a configurable delay (e.g. 2–5 seconds) before the AI sends a response.
- Allowing admins to customize this delay based on their preferred conversation style.
Use Case (All Lifecycle Phases)
- Capture:Helps the conversation flow more naturally.
- Convert:Give users time to provide full context, improving AI effectiveness in sales or product inquiries.
- Retain:Promote more human-like and respectful interactions to improve customer satisfaction and long-term engagement.
