Currently, calls made via the WhatsApp Business API are limited to a maximum of 30 minutes. For businesses that handle in-depth consultations, customer support, or sales discussions, this time restriction interrupts conversations and forces agents and customers to reconnect, creating friction in the communication flow.
Desired Outcome:
Allow WhatsApp Business API calls to exceed the current 30-minute cap, enabling longer and uninterrupted voice or video calls directly through the channel.

- Calls often get disconnected midway, forcing agents to reinitiate the conversation and disrupting the customer experience
Desired outcome:
Ability to extend the WhatsApp Call duration beyond 30 minutes or make it configurable within safe bounds:
- Maintain existing safeguards to prevent overcharges if Meta’s webhook fails to terminate the call
- Align with Meta’s official 120-minute maximum limit
Use cases:
- A sales team conducting long client demos or negotiations over WhatsApp needs uninterrupted calls
- A support agent handling complex cases requires more than 30 minutes to resolve an issue
