WhatsApp: Get Contact Profile Photo/Picture from WhatsApp

Desired outcome: To make it look friendlier, it would be nice if the saved contacts gets the contact profile picture if available on WhatsApp.

There is definitely a limitation by Meta, but there are ways around it...
Like using a third party service to fetch the profile picture or just do it from the page:

There are several API Providers that can Get customer Profile Picture - for example https://rapidapi.com/inutil-inutil-default/api/whatsapp-profile-pic. I gess if WhatsApp limits it rapidapi would not be able to build such as API - but once they could maybe respond.io can do also.

Omar Elfishawi: I think there is a high likelihood that we get it, but whatsapp is not very quick at releasing features, so it might take some time.

Hi, I would also be happy to have the option to MANUALLY add photos of my clients to the contacts. The profile picture field is already there. Respond.io just need to give us the option to add the customers photo. It would make a big difference. Thank you.

Since this is a different request, I have created a separate feature request regarding "manually uploading profile picture for Contacts". Do upvote it here: https://respond.canny.io/feature-request/p/option-to-upload-profile-picture-for-contacts 😃
In the meantime, updating Contact's profile picture is achievable by using our Contacts API, you might want to try it out!
