Workflows: Add BCC field for Gmail Channels
Jeffrey Meijer
Business Problem:
Currently, respond.io only supports adding a CC field in the Gmail channel settings, but does not support a BCC field. This poses a challenge for businesses that use external CRM platforms to track and log outgoing emails.
Many CRMs require emails to be blind carbon copied (BCC) to a unique address in order to automatically log and associate emails with the correct contact or deal. Without a BCC option, it’s difficult to ensure that outgoing emails sent through workflows are captured and tracked properly in those external systems.
Desired Outcome:
Introduce a BCC field in the Gmail Channel settings that can be used for:
- Workflow email automation
- Ensuring outgoing emails are logged in CRMs
- Maintaining email thread visibility in external platforms without exposing recipients

Hi Nabilah Binti Salleh,
I mean in the workflow settings for automation. When you send an automatic email in the workflow there is no BCC field.
Normally for automatisation, you should add this in the channel settings. However currently it's only a CC field while BCC is normally recommended to align with other CRM platforms for updates on the outgoing emails.

Hi Jeffrey Meijer- thank you for your request. We currently do support CC and BCC when composing your outgoing email in the message composer. See more here: https://respond.io/help/messages/messages-overview#email_channel_composer
If this does not solve it, could you share more on your use case so that we are able to understand your issues better?
