Workflows often receive data from external systems as JSON, through the HTTP Request step or the Incoming Webhook trigger. Today the HTTP Request step can only extract single values with a JSON path (e.g. $.patient.first_name) and save them as variables. There’s no way to process that data inside the Workflow, such as combining values, counting or filtering items in a list, doing calculations or reformatting dates. Users have to process the data in an external tool (e.g. n8n, Make or their own server) before sending it back, which adds complexity, cost and more points of failure.

A new Workflow step that evaluates expressions on JSON data and saves the result as a variable for later steps (Send a Message, Update Contact Field, Branch, etc.)
